New and second-hand equipment

There are a number of sources of beekeeping equipment:

  1. New equipment
Try looking at some some of the links from here
  1. Make your own   The cheap and easy option, with many web sites to help you. Take a look around this site by Dave Cushman and you will find plans for nearly everything.

  2. Buy second-hand

Equipment from one of the Divisional auctions. Items are really cheap at these sales but they are few and far between. Chelmsford Division hold one each year, around September time. Details will be on this site, together with news of other sales we may hear about.

Please obtain advice about sterilising second-hand equipment. This is essential in order to prevent the spread of disease.

  1. Private sales

Buy second-hand or surplus equipment from your local, friendly Beekeepers (look here)

  2. Other Divisional web sites
Few and far between. Try the  EBKA Magazine
  1. E-bay

Look on E-bay where there are sometimes bargains to be had
